too shy for the gym huh?

so in the world today it can be a little overwhelming looking at VH1's top 100 hot bodies of the year of whatever its called. the media smashes us with these images of the perfect bodies, male and female. well in my calculations, less than 1% of the world has a perfect body, but that doesn't mean we cant come close.

genetically not everyone can have a six/eight pack, buns of steal, pecs to die for, but it doesnt mean that you can't find what works for you. we have to find realistic goals and achieve them.
so what, you've gained a little weight, ok, a lot of weight and you are embarrassed. your gym clothes don't fit anymore and you make every excuse not to go to the gym. you are probably just embarassed because you lost the stamina you had and your belly hangs a little bit, oh well. never become complacent with the image that you hate when you can do something (HEALTHY) about it. the gym was invented for a reason, and there is also a reason that gym's arent outdoors. it's the sanctuary for fitness.

go out and buy some new gym clothes if that's what it will take to motivate you. no you don't need the new Nike shox and full out Livestrong outfit. there are cheaper options. head over to Walmart or Target and get some clothes. let's make it even cheaper, you have a shirt, just go get some fresh shorts or pants, some new socks, and some new underwear. new things make you feel good and put you in the character of the things you bought. you buy some new running shorts and you will want to run because it makes you feel like a runner. you buy some new fly/flattering underwear you will feel....well yeah, just get some new underwear. do what you have to do to be the change you want to see. remember it wont happen over night, but its a step at a time.

stop finding excuses, stop being in denial, and get healthy. drop the six pack (beer) and pick up the other six. (health, love, determination, happiness, self fulfillment, life)

why girls dont like us

this topic is going to have several entries. they do like us, but listen! if you want them to keep liking you, you might want to pay attention to these blog entries. i was inspired by www.askmen.com

Relationship Correspondent of Every other Sunday, Heidi Muller, put it all into perspective.

WE DONT MAKE THE FIRST MOVE!!! ughhh

" Women want their guys to ask them out, plan the evening and kiss them when they least expect it -- in short, take chances. I know going out on a limb and risking rejection is frustrating, but you'll get nowhere fast if you refuse to make that first move. In addition to a lack of initiative, shy people generally tend to be more passive, and a man who's indifferent about everything and always aims to please can become annoying, even with the best of intentions. Don't hesitate to state your opinions or objections, if you have any."

<----------- DONT BE THIS GUY EITHER, you will lose once again.

who cares?

shyness is the opposite of feeling at ease with others.
"you're so easy to talk to, you're so talented", those are things we commonly hear from our friends, classmates, and coworkers. pay attention to what i just said. i mentioned people who are around you 24/7. you know you are all of these great things, an excellent pianist, dart thrower, gamer, but you are great at things that are done solo. if the people around you are giving you praises, accept them and share that part of you with the world. what is it gonna take for realize that you have some type of wealth the world needs?
get on it. you are probably thinking what people will think if you branch out, but, who cares? you'll soon realize that you are the only one who cares.

hey there shy celebrity of the day

"I like to dance and sing when there's no one around, but, if I'm out, I'm really shy about it. So it takes a lot to get me going, but I enjoy being around music. "- Derek Jeter

do you guys do it to? oh gosh, i swear to you i am the best dancer out there, but no one would evvverrr know. i can do the ....well, you name it and i can do it. dancing is a way to free yourself while enjoying yourself. it's completely stress free. it's also kind of like singing. you know how everyone thinks they are the next, or even better than, barry manilow. it's just like that.
tomorrow morning (if you shower in the mornings), you get out of the shower (and get dressed), start dancing and try to hold that energy. let that confidence you have to do the latest dance moves hold you for the rest of the day. its like setting the tone for the rest of the day. since it's out of character, some people will ask you what got into you. tell them you're just happy to be living your life. because in all actuality, you are.

shy guy vs. the introvert

"Shyness is discomfort or self-consciousness in the presence of others, usually involving fears of being judged or criticized. Most people experience it from time to time – and you can see how the job search process, which by definition involves judging and comparing job candidates, brings out the shyness in people. Introversion is something else entirely."

wendy gelberg gave me the insight for this blog from her entry on THE LEADER OF THE WORLD- ONLINE MAGAZINE with her article YOU CAN BE SHY AND STILL SUCCEED.

CARL JUNG, psychologist, describes introversion as referring to energy flowing and the tendency of some to draw energy from the inner world. the focus is more so inward on ideas of seeking solitude to "recharge their batteries".

introverts enjoy the social interaction, but being the socialite becomes overwhelming. on the converse, extroverts are energized from the outside in through other people and activity.

being an introvert, does not mean that your shy. it can just mean that you prefer not to be as "out" as other people.

shy t.o.d

today's shy tip of the day is brought to you by .you need to let people know that your are in fact shy. "This is a controversial subject. Some people recommend that you never tell people you're shy, because people will use that information to label you."
yeah you get labeled, but come on, there is a chance that people will be way more lenient with in certain situations. if it doesn't work in that sense, it might allow people to force you poke your head out of your turtle shell.

people often mistake our shyness for arrogance which is actually not the case in many aspects. many people are relieved to realize that you are shy because it makes it easier on everyone.

[Caroline Knapp didn't understand how her shyness was being interpreted by others until she overheard her neighbors talking about her behind her house http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/1999/03/05feature.html]
the secret is out, so stop it now.

Tuesday

shy t.o.d

a lot of things come out of networking, social networking especially, but my tip for today is to make who you are behind the screen come to life. we find a lot of comfort behind the screen, people don't get a sense of who we are, and we can let loose. go out and meet some people...ok, meet some ONE, fine....just smile and or just say hello.
